What is a PEMF mat?
A PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) mat delivers low-frequency electromagnetic pulses through coils embedded across the mat while you lie on it. Livewell mats layer this with far infrared warmth, natural gemstones and, on most models, 660 nm red light, so one 20-minute session combines several wellness technologies at once.
How long should a session be?
Most clients begin with 20 to 30 minutes. Start at a comfortable PEMF and heat setting, then adjust gradually over your first two weeks. The controller has a session timer so you can lie down and let it run.
Can I use it every day?
Yes. The mat is designed as a daily ritual: after training, before sleep, or as a quiet reset in the middle of the day. Consistency matters more than intensity. If you have a medical condition, an implanted device, or are pregnant, speak with your physician before starting.
What should I wear on the mat?
Light, breathable clothing works best. For higher heat settings, a thin layer between you and the gemstones is comfortable; many clients lay a cotton sheet over the mat. Remove metal jewellery and keep phones off the surface.
What is shungite and why is it in the mat?
Shungite is a rare, carbon-rich mineral found almost exclusively in Karelia, in northern Europe, and is known for its naturally occurring fullerene structures. Every Livewell mat includes a shungite layer alongside its gemstones as part of the mineral composition you lie on. It has been used in traditional wellness practice for centuries; we include it for that heritage and make no medical claims for it.
What is the difference between EMF and PEMF?
Everyday EMF from phones, routers and power lines is continuous, uncontrolled and high-frequency. PEMF is the opposite: short, deliberate pulses at low therapeutic frequencies, delivered for a set session and then switched off. Livewell mats also include filtration and shielding layers to keep stray EMF low.
How do PEMF, red light and far infrared work together?
Each technology reaches the body differently. Far infrared warms the tissue evenly, red light acts at the surface, and the pulsed field passes through. Combining them in one mat means you receive all three in a single session instead of three separate devices and three separate routines.
Who should not use a PEMF mat?
Do not use if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, or have been advised against electromagnetic or heat therapy.
